11 ways to make today a good day
Even if your day didn’t get off to the best start, you still have any moment to turn it around. For example, I was sick yesterday, so I didn’t get to clean my room and do my Sunday reset like I wanted. Because I was ill today I went straight to work Monday morning without being physically able to do my morning workout beforehand. But I know I can still have a good day despite this. Here are some of the ways you can turn your day around (or just have a great day if it started off good):
Journal tonight.
Before you read or watch Netflix do some cozy journaling in bed.
Go on a walk.
I love my post-work walks. Or a post-dinner digestion walk to enjoy the evening.
Make yourself look presentable.
Even if the first part of the day had you looking rough, you can still control your appearance. I love to carry makeup in my work bag because you never know when it might come in handy. Put on a little bit of makeup and do your skincare, you’ll feel so much better.
Stay hydrated.
Drink plenty of water to keep yourself feeling your best.
Take pride in yourself for showing up.
For instance, today, even though I wasn’t feeling well I still showed up to work. (Why we take pride in showing up to a 9-5 job in our one lifetime is another problem in itself, but I’m doing what I need to do to make an income and support myself). I’m proud of myself for still showing up. We often don’t give ourselves enough kudos, we need to work on that. If you showed up to your morning workout, give yourself some credit!
Watch an inspirational YouTuber.
Sometimes all we need for a kick of motivation is consuming content of a lifestyle vlogger who inspires us. If you’ve never watched YouTube, you’re missing out. There are so many incredible content creators on there. One of my favorites is Danielle Carolan—I love watching her New York City vlogs.
Read.
I like to read before bed—it’s a routine. But reading in general can open up so many doors and truly is the best medicine. Make some time to read today :)
Go to bed early.
Set a boundary with yourself to be in bed by a certain time no matter what. Because it is good for you.
Cook from home.
There’s something so enjoyable about taking time to make a meal for yourself. Especially if you’re a single gal in your 20s like me. I’m soaking up this time because it’s the best time ever.
Leave work at work.
Once you’re done work for the day, no more thinking about it. Once you’re done with work is when your life begins, and you get to do what you want with your time!
Don’t ruminate.
It can be so easy to ruminate about things from the day from bad bosses to bad coworkers. Don’t pollute your mind with this jibberish, focus on the positive.
